Labor and Birth Care

On the special day, you will be welcomed by a familiar FWBC midwife who is eager to assist you on the journey to meet your new baby.

+ Labor support provided by midwives in a relaxed modern environment + Continuous monitoring of you and your baby’s health during labor + Encouragement of mobility and nutrition during labor + Immediate skin to skin and delayed cord clamping + Birth preferences and birth experiences are respected + Husband, birth partners, and families are included in the experience

Postpartum Care

+ Mothers are monitored at FWBC for 4-6 hours after giving birth + Newborn physical exam by a midwife + Immediate lactation assistance + Celebratory birthday cake prior to going home
+ 24-48 hour in-home postpartum visit
+ 2 & 6 week in-center postpartum visits

Lactation

+ Onsite Lactation consultant (IBCLC) + Covered by most insurance plans exam by a midwife

Dietitian

+ Onsite Dietitian + Covered by most major insurance plans + Most birth center clients qualify for one visit during pregnancy + Dietitian program also available to non-pregnant clients desiring this service
+ Regular Nutrition classes desired for promoting health in pregnancy
+ Diabetic counseling
